Ensure café laptop workers check in

This is important. It trains them to check if you’re accepting users (the app will tell them it’s a lockout period if they try to check in during one of these times), lets you seat them where you like; and gives you a heads up that they’re here (with their extended stays)

Honour the up-to-2-hours stay

You can set up ‘lockout’ periods where café laptop workers can’t check in. Outside those, members can stay for up to 2 hours per check-in. If someone checks in close to a lockout, their stay ends when the lockout starts, so if they check in at 11:00AM and your lockout starts at 12:00PM, they’ll be heading off at 12:00PM.

Walk them over or just point them to where you’d like them to sit

If you want to. You can place the students near high foot traffic visibility areas, next to power points if you have any, or just give them the standard ‘sit wherever you like!’

If you want to share wi-fi then do so

You don’t need to offer wi-fi to be part of this service. If you do, you can either give that to us to populate on the screen app when people sign in, or just offer it to users if it’s the first time they’ve been there.

Don’t clear the table or ask if they want anything extra

This is important. These are interpreted by café laptop workers as ‘time to buy more or move on’ queues. We explicitly tell our members they can stay for up to 2 hours per check-in; and they won’t get any such queues to move on.
